The bodies of two missing Britons were recovered on Friday near Mekedatu in Ramanagaram district of Karnataka, police said.

Turton Ian Richard, 45, and Michael David John Easton, 40, both British nationals went missing after they had gone for rafting on the Cauvery river on May 19.

On Friday, rescue team discovered Richard's body at 9 am and Easton's body was found at 5:30 pm.

More than thirty rescue officials conducted the search operations to find out the two foreign nationals whose bodies were highly decomposed, part of them eaten by fish.

Ramanagaram Superintendent of Police Anupam Agarwal said the foreign nationals' boat got punctured in the river and their heads were badly injured after they hit sharp rocks present in the water.

"The bodies of the two foreigners will be sent to UK after conducting autopsy," he said.
