Manipur, Feb 08 (ANI): Situated in the Bishnupur district, some 48 kilometers from Imphal, the Loktak Lake stretches up to 250 square kilometer area. One of the largest freshwater lakes of India, Loktak is also home to the world's only floating National park, Keibul Lamjao National Park. Surrounded by hills, the scenic beauty of the lake and the rich biodiversity attracts large crowds. Recently, the Loktak Lake Tourism Development Society introduced boating facility to attract tourists. There are more than 20 boats of different passenger capacity to ferry tourists across the lake. Some of these boats are fitted with music system and serve meal during the ride. The fare per person for a trip is Rs.20 to Rs .200, depending upon the hiring time and facilities. Tourists can now enjoy nature from close while boating in Loktak Lake. A large number of migratory birds flock the lake every winter.
