The debut of BlackBerry Z10 in January set the internet buzzing with speculations about the price and date of availability of the smartphone in India.

A few days ago, BlackBerry India confirmed to host a launch event in Mumbai on 25 February, while not giving any possible price details of the smartphone.

Now, Indian e-retailer Saholic.com has started to take pre-orders for BlackBerry's newest flagship touch-screen smartphone that will cost a whopping ₹45, 000.

With an expensive price tag, BlackBerry has an uphill task to come up with strategic plans to promote its flagship smartphone in a price-sensitive market like India.

However, the company will surely be encouraged with record sales of rival Apple iPhone 5 in India which is testament to the fact that there is a good population of high-end smartphone buyers in the subcontinent who are willing to buy expensive smartphones as long they exude quality.
