Canadian smartphone maker BlackBerry slashed the prices of its Z30 smartphone in India by 12 percent, as part of the company's tenth anniversary celebration.
The offer will be available for period of 60 days starting 27 March and the company will retail its Z30 smartphone at a price point of ₹34,990.The BlackBerry Z30, a 5-inch smartphone was originally launched with a price tag of ₹39,990 in October. The offer runs across all BlackBerry retail network and the company has also tied up exclusively with the e-retailer Flipkart to make the white variant of Blackberry Z30 available. Flipkart will also sell the Z30 smartphone at the reduced price.
"India is amongst the key emerging smartphone markets. The Indian consumers want access to cutting edge experience of a smart device combined with a revolutionary operating system - all at an attractive price point," said Hitesh Shah - Director, Channel Sales, BlackBerry India, according to NDTV Gadgets.
Earlier in March, BlackBerry had announced a heavy price cut for its Z10 touchscreen model in India, after which the phone ran out of stock. The Z10 smartphone received 60 percent discount on the price, taking the cost of the smartphone to ₹17,990, against the launch price of ₹ 43,990 .The discount has helped the company clear the stock in the country, however the company replenished stocks of Z10 smartphone in India.
"We have seen a phenomenal response to our initial promotional offer on BlackBerry Z10 and are confident we will see similar off take for the 5 inch screen BlackBerry Z30 that combines technology and style quotient in one device. This anniversary price of Rs. 34,990/- will therefore ensure that consumers are able to experience the latest and best technology at an attractive cost," Shah added.
The BlackBerry Z30 sports 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 720x1280 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 320 GPU. Other features of the phone include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of inbuilt storage with expandable option(64GB), BB 10.2 version OS, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and 2880mAh battery.
