Canadian Handset maker BlackBerry on Tuesday launched the mid-range QWERTY based smartphone Q5 in India.
The new phone sports a 3.1 TFT LCD 720x720p screen along with QWERTY physical keypad covering the rest of the front side and runs on the BB10 mobile OS. Under the hood, it packs a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor paired with 2GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
The BlackBerry Q5 houses a 5.0-megapixel camera which can record full HD 1080p video on the rear side and a 2.0-megapixel camera on the front that is capable of taking 720p HD video.
Considering the overall specifications and its price, the new BlackBerry QWERTY phone will have a tough time competing against MNC and domestic rivals - LG-Google Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy S3 and Sony Xperia SP. The recently launched metal-clad Micromax Canvas 4, Xolo Play T1000 and Karbonn Titanium S9 will further accentuate woes to the BlackBerry Q5.
The new BlackBerry Q5 is said to come with three colour variants - red, white and black and is expected to hit stores across the country by 20 July.
