Popular Canadian smartphone maker, BlackBerry is reportedly planning to launch the flagship QWERTY handset Classic in India next week. The company has reportedly begun sending out media houses for a press meet scheduled on 15 January in New Delhi.
The invitation (courtesy, BGR India) reads- 'Join us to witness the unveiling of the new BlackBerry 10 [Serious Mobility for Serious Business]'. Many believe that the company will use the Delhi event as the launch pad for BlackBerry Classic, which was released in select markets in November last year.
Real Time News citing a smartphone distributor, too corroborate that the BlackBerry Classic will hit Indian stores in mid-January for ₹31,999.
For the uninitiated, BlackBerry Classic features the company's trademark back-lit QWERTY physical keypad with trackpad and navigation keys. On top, it sports a 3.5-inch 720x720p resolution touch-screen display.
Under the hood, it comes packed with Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and 2515 mAh battery which can power the phone for close to 22 hours under mixed usage.
On photography front, it houses 8.0-megapixel camera with auto-focus, Backside illumination LED flash and a 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front.
