Kolkata, May 02 (ANI): BJP President in West Bengal, Rahul Sinha on Friday approached the Election Commission alleging polling booth capture and malpractices by rival parties during the elections held on April 30. Close to 81 percent polling was registered in West Bengal on the day of seventh phase of polls in the nine-phased general election. Rahul Sinha called EC ‘over confident’ and slammed it for going by the reports submitted by the election officials on the polling booth despite media reports informing about malpractices that occurred on Wednesday. Polling in six more parliamentary constituencies is scheduled for May 7 in West Bengal. Sinha suggested EC to conduct a fair investigation into the complaint based on video footages by media. He also requested EC to deploy more security forces at all polling stations and employ surveillance cameras as well.
