'Bigg Boss 9': Salman Khan Offered Hefty Fee for Hosting Reality Show?

Fans were shocked when, in last season, Farah Khan replaced Salman Khan in the second and final leg of "Bigg Boss 8". A few weeks later, it was reported that Salman wouldn't return for "Bigg Boss 9" and the makers were looking for fitting anchors to replace him in the show.

However, fresh reports suggest that the "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" star will host the upcoming season for a hefty fee. "Salman will be hosting the next season of Bigg Boss and he has been paid a lump sum amount for the same," a source said, according to Daily Bhaskar.

In other news, Khan was apprehenisve about hosting the last season as the format had earlier taken a toll on him, emotionally.

There has been no official confirmation on the matter as yet, and hence can be taken as a speculation.

"Dil Dhadakne Do" actor Ranveer Singh, who turned down the offer to replace Salman, reportedly said he was too young for TV. But, if sources are to be believed, the makers were convinced that he would do a good job.

"Ranveer has a good sense of humor and can attract crowd very easily. If he would have agreed it would have worked very well for the show," the source further elaborated.

After "Season 8" came to an end, there were conjectures that this year the show would feature winners from previous seasons; thus, viewers can expect Gautam Gulati (Season 8), Gauahar Khan (Season 7), Urvashi Dholakia (Season 6), Juhi Parmar (Season 5), Shweta Tiwari (Season 4), Vindoo Dara Singh (Season 3), Ashutosh Kaushik (Season 2), and Rahul Roy (Season 1) in the ninth installment.
