Salman Khan will reprise his role as the host in "Bigg Boss 9". The superstar announced his return to the widely watched TV reality show through his Twitter handle. "Bigg Boss 9 is mine," he tweeted.

Colors Channel has also made it official that Salman will host the ninth season of the controversial reality show.

"Colors welcomes #BhajrangiBhaijaan @BeingSalmanKhan to #biggboss9 Presented by @Snapdeal Powered by @Oppomobileindia This October @ColorsTV," Colors CEO Raj Nayak tweeted on Friday.

Last year, Salman had to quit the show midway due to his work commitments and was replaced by filmmaker Farah Khan. Since then, speculations have been doing the rounds as to whether or not the actor will host the new season.

Meanwhile, Salman has already shot the promo for the show at Film City on Friday. The "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" actor also shared a picture from the promo shoot.

Some other pictures from the promo shoot has surfaced on the Internet, which will undoubtedly increase the curiosity among "Bigg Boss" fans ahead of the airing of the show.

It is said that the promo will go on air within a week and the show is likely to start from 11 October, soon after "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded" wraps up. However, the latest buzz is that the most-watched TV reality show will not be aired during a prime-time slot. Apparently, this time the show will be telecast at 10.30 pm instead of its usual time of 9 pm.

With the news of Salman returning as the host, fans now await the confirmed list of contestants taking part in the ninth edition of the controversial show.
