The tenth instalment of controversial reality show "Bigg Boss" has opened its gates to the commoners, who are expected to upload a three-minute video highlighting their best trait as part of the preliminary selection procedures. This clip is crucial as host Salman Khan will take the final call on "everything."

"One of our conditions for the audition entries is that the video should showcase at least one trait of the participants that makes them eligible. Entries close on May 31, after which a detailed process of handpicking will begin. It's going to be a blitzkrieg and of course, Salman will take the final call on everything," a source told Mumbai Mirror.

"Bigg Boss 10" may be months away but the makers have begun promoting the show already. The 36-second-long promo, which released Monday night, was a shout-out to the "commoners."

It focused on a cricket match, during which the pacer and batsman get into a brawl. Later, the bowler is invited to the "Bigg Boss" house for being brave. The video also featured information, which the viewers could use to get one step closer to being a part of the madness.

Although the promo triggered excitement among fans of the show, Salman's absence raised questions. The superstar will return to the tenth edition and has even hiked his fee by 30 percent for this season.

Earlier this year, Colors CEO Raj Nayak told India Today that "Bigg Boss 10" is open to people from all walks of life. It is their chance to show to the world how well they can entertain.

"Every year we receive thousands of emails, SMS texts, etc. enquiring about ways to enter the show. Finally, the day has arrived. Hope the fans and avid viewers make full use of this opening," he had further added.
