CBS recently released the title and synopsis of the next episode of "The Big Bang Theory" and it promises to showcase a confrontation between Leonard and Sheldon.

The series is currently on a winter break and the next episode, titled "The Space Probe Disintegration," will air on 8 January.

"When the guys finally agree to do something the girls like, it leads to a confrontation between Leonard and Sheldon," the synopsis reads.

An extended synopsis reveals that Sheldon and Leonard will take the girls shopping, and there they will start discussing the compromises they make for each other, which ensues an argument. But in the end, they realise how much they mean to each other and Sheldon will give Leonard permission to slowly take his relationship forward with Penny.

Raj and Howard will also get some bonding time when the latter takes Raj to a temple to put his mind at ease regarding a space probe experiment.

While spoilers on future episodes are limited, a section of fans have expressed a desire to see Penny and Leonard finally making some wedding preparations next year.

A wedding is not on the cards right now, as it was earlier noted that Penny wanted to wait a while before she walked down the aisle. "They're in a great place. They're the kind of couple where they can be engaged for a while and that's fine," "The Big Bang Theory" showrunner Steven Molaro told TVLine earlier this year.

But when they do get married, it might not be a conventional one, actor Johnny Galecki once said.

"I think a good white-trash wedding with her family would be a lot of fun," he said about his idea of Penny and Leonard's perfect wedding, according to HollywoodLife. "But if it were left up to Leonard, he would not invite his mother and they'd probably just get Chinese takeout."
