Bentley Motors has unveiled the details and pictures of the Bentayga SUV, which is scheduled to premiere at the upcoming 2015 Frankfurt Show.

Bentley claims the Bentayga to be the fastest, most powerful, most luxurious and most exclusive SUV that offers a true Bentley driving experience and showcases innovative technology features.

The Bentayga's silhouette remains true to the previous EXP 9 F concept, which the SUV is based on. The SUV retains the family design language inspired from the Continental GT and Flying Spur.

Like most Bentleys, the large rectangular-shaped grille takes the prime spot at the front. The large single round headlamp unit shown on concept has given way to twin headlamps, in typical Bentley fashion.

The vehicle adds the sporty bits such as LED headlamps, muscular haunches, roof rails and a stylish tailgate with a sloping rear window. It also boasts of the finest cabin with the detailing in metal, wood and leather.

The car will ride on the MLB Evo platform that underpins the second generation Audi Q7. An all-new twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine is at the heart of the new Bentayga. The 12-cylinder unit develops 600bhp and a mammoth 900Nm delivering a 0-100kmph time of 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 301kmph. This means Bentayga is the world's most powerful and fastest SUV as of today.

Designed, engineered and built in Crewe, UK, the customer deliveries of the Bentayga will commence in early 2016. The launch model will be joined later by high performance, clean technology diesel and plug-in hybrid, as well as a seven-seat option.

Bentley is not only the luxury manufacturer testing the waters in the crossover segment. Lamborghini will unleash the Urus and Aston Martin will bring the DBX crossover concept soon. Maserati is reportedly working on a crossover. Rolls-Royce has also joined the bandwagon with its Project Cullinan.
