British luxury automobile manufacturer Bentley Motors' Bentayga — the first ever SUV from the company — has been spotted in India ahead of its official entry into the market on April 22. The Bentayga, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2015, is claimed by the company to be the most powerful and fastest SUV in the world.
PetrolHead700 has posted a video showing the Bentley Bentayga SUV cruising through a busy street in Delhi without any hint of camouflage. The SUV dons what is called the "Bentayga Bronze" shade. It is expected to fall in the price brackets of Rs. 4 crore to Rs.6 crore in India. Earlier reports had said the company had allocated only 20 units of the Bentayga SUV for the Indian market, and all of them have already been sold out.
Based on the VW Group's new MLB-Evo platform, which also underpins the new-generation Audi Q7, the Bentayga SUV measures 5,141mm in length, 2,223mm in width and 1,742mm in height, and comes with a wheelbase of 2,992mm. Powering the SUV is an all-new twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine that can conveniently churn out 600bhp of power and a mammoth 900Nm of torque mated to eight-speed transmission. The SUV sprints 0-100kmph in 4.1 seconds before attaining a top speed of 301kmph.
Bentley Bentayga HAS sporty features such as LED headlamps, muscular haunches, roof rails and a stylish tailgate with a sloping rear window. Inside the cabin, the SUV gets a cabin with detailing in metal, wood and leather. Other features include 22-way front seats with adjustable bolsters, massage, ventilation, electric seatbelt adjustment and comfort headrests, Bentley rear entertainment, split-folding heated rear 4+1 seats and a panoramic tilt/slide sunroof.
