Supercars are not alien to India roads now. Especially in Bengaluru where many millionaires reside, throaty exhaust notes from Ferraris and Lamborghinis are ordinary. However, among these high-end cars, a McLaren model is not an everyday view. Coming June, the streets of the city may also hear the raucous exhaust note of this British supercar brand.

Thanks to Ranjit Sundaramurthy aka RSM who has reportedly placed an order for the McLaren supercar. He will take delivery of McLaren 720S, the latest supercar of the company from Dubai towards the end of June 2017, reports drivetribe.com. The report also says Sundaramurthy is planning to import his McLaren 720S to Bengaluru and it will share the garage space with other supercars of him that include a Ferrari 458 Italia, a Ferrari 488GTB and a Lamborghini Huracan.

McLaren Automotive has revealed the second-generation Super Series model, the McLaren 720S, at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show in March this year. The new supercar is lighter, faster and aerodynamically more superior to the outgoing 650S, according to the Woking-based company.

It got the name from the 720PS horsepower from the 4.0-litre engine and it is the first model in the second-generation McLaren Super Series. The car has a clean, yet a bold new face and the dramatic 'fighter jet' glass roof adds visual appeal. The highlight on the new Super Series model is the absence of radiator intakes on the side of the car. Instead, this function is carried out by dihedral doors, which channel air to the high-temperature radiators that cool the mid-mounted engine.

The M840T twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 mill in the McLaren 720S develops 710bhp at 7,500rpm and 770Nm of torque at 5,500rpm mated to seven-speed SSG transmission. The mill has 41 percent new part content compared to the 3.8-litre engine that continues to feature in the McLaren Sports Series. The 720S requires only 2.9 seconds to reach 100kmph and it has a top whack of 341kmph.

The company has reportedly produced around 400 units of the McLaren 720S and all are already been sold out. The carmaker expects 1,200 units of the car to be sold this year worldwide.
