Bengaluru/Gurgaon/New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): Bengaluru on Thursday banned unregistered cabs in the wake of alleged rape of a female passenger in New Delhi by a driver of US cab company Uber. The transport administration in Bengaluru has taken strict measures aimed at preventing crimes against women professionals travelling in cabs by monitoring taxi drivers. The department is also insisting that all cabs are fitted with GPS. Police have also issued notices to all cab operators in the city to undergo police verification by December 31 or face action. The administration has allowed only eight registered cab companies permission to run in the city.
