Viewers were left unhappy with the BDSM scenes -- or lack thereof -- in "Fifty Shades of Grey", but will the addition of Niall Leonard fix this issue in the sequel.

The first movie, which was narrated from the point of view Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson), a willing submissive to Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), did not live up to the hype or expectations. Author EL James has now hired her husband to screen-write "Fifty Shades Darker", hopefully to give an insight into the dominant side of BDSM.

Following James' clash with director Sam Taylor-Johnson over the adaptation of the first book, the plans for the sequel are reportedly stalled. Neither Taylor-Johnson, nor screen-writer Kelly Marcel are returning for "Fifty Shades Darker". Meanwhile, both the stars Dakota and Jamie are demanding more money.

James is however, not letting any of these rain on her parade. She has gone ahead and hired her husband and the father of her two children, Niall Leonard, as the screen-writer for the sequel.

Leonard is a seasoned screen-writer with past experience in TV shows such as "Wire in the Blood" and "Air Force One is Down". But more importantly, he is most likely to bring a fresh take on the sadomasochistic relationship between Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson.

With the submissive's angle having already been explored to the point of boredom in the "Fifty Shades" trilogy and "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, the story now should be told from the dominant's angle for a change. It is not known if that is why Leonard was hired, but it sure would be a better way to handle the sequel, especially since viewers were unanimously unhappy with the first movie.
