Bayern Munich completed the signing of Chile and Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal on Tuesday. Vidal signed a four-year contract with the German giants and his transfer fee is rumoured to be in the region of £26m, BBC Sports reported.

During his stay at Juventus, Vidal helped the Italian club to win the title four consecutive times since 2011 after he moved from Bayer Leverkusen.

Vidal was part of the Chile squad, which won the Copa America 2015 recently. He was Chile's highest goal scorer in the tournament as well. The star midfielder might make his debut for Bayern Munich in the German Supercup against Wolfsburg on Saturday.

"I'm very happy. This is a new step in my career and I hope I do well here. I want to help the team and win trophies. It's a dream come true for me. I wanted to take another big step forward in my career. I want to keep developing as a player and win important trophies like the Champions League. I think the best opportunity to do so is with Bayern," Vidal said in an interview to Bayern Munich official website.

"We weren't a long way off winning all three competitions last season. I hope we can pull it off with Bayern. That has to be the target. I'm thrilled about playing in the Bundesliga again and obviously hope to win it this time. I didn't manage it with Leverkusen back then, but with Bayern there's a very, very good chance," he added.

Though Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had criticised the player, he later said that he was misinformed.

"The message we were given was that the player didn't want to come, but that's not true. It was Leverkusen who clearly turned down what was a better offer from us at the time purely because they didn't want Vidal to continue playing in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich," Rummenigge told reporters.
