Fans eagerly waiting for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" have some interesting scoop about Lex Luthor to revel on. According to the latest rumours, the bad guy in the Warner Bros. film is actually not Lex Luthor, but his son.

While many thought that Jesse Eisenberg would be the classiest and youngest looking Lex Luthor we have ever seen, comic book fans weren't quite convinced with the characterisation. Well, obviously the image of Lex Luthor in all our minds is that of an old, bald man.

And now, according to the latest plot rumours, it has come out that Eisenberg is actually playing Lex Luthor's son. A report on MTV has pointed out that Lex Luthor's full name is actually Alexander Luthor Jr, which reportedly means that there already was a Luthor in the DC Cinematic Universe.

The report came to this conclusion after Lex Luthor Jr's brand new Twitter account and a fictional write-up of LexCorp was published in Fortune Magazine, as part of "Batman v Superman" marketing campaign.

Interestingly, the headline of the article reads: "Lex Luthor Jr.: Not Just His Father's LexCorp." And in the published interview, the long-haired tech mogul has been described as "a 31-year-old wunderkind who transformed an aging petrochemical and heavy machinery dinosaur into a tech darling of the Fortune 500 in what some call a superhuman feat."

So now that explains why the Lex Luthor (or should we say, Luthor Jr) in "Dawn of Justice" looks so young and why Jesse Eisenberg is actually a perfect fit for the role.

Meanwhile, Jesse spoke to Vulture about his character and how Lex Luthor in "Batman v Superman" will be very scary and different from the previous films.

"There is this trove of stuff about this guy. A lot of it's repetitive, like he always winds up on the roof of his building giving some faux benevolent talk about how he's going to change the city. It's fun to take that campy cartoony stuff and try to put it into a real person and try to reconcile the two," he said.

While squashing comparisons to Gene Hackman's character in the 1978 film, Eisenberg said, "This movie is so different... it has real psychological underpinnings, and this movie character feels like a real scary person."

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" releases on 23 March, 2016.
