West Indies' Chris Gayle will be in action for Chittagong Vikings on SaturdayReuters

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) was scheduled to start on Friday. Two matches were set to take place in Mirpur and the toss was done as well for the first of the two games. However, officially no bowl was bowled in either of the matches owing to heavy downpour.

The BPL hasn't officially started yet, that's all we can say on Saturday morning. Two matches are scheduled for the day as well and it remains to be seen if rain plays the spoilsport yet again to make Saturday an absolute forgettable one for the Bangladeshi supporters who have booked tickets for the game.

The first match of the day sees Barisal Bulls taking on Chittagong Vikings at the Sher-e-Bangla National stadium.

Carlos Brathwaite and Mushfiqur Rahim remain the two big names for the Bulls, while the Vikings boast of the likes of Chris Gayle, Dwayne Smith and Shoaib Malik. Stars are pitted against each other and it remains to be seen who comes out as the victor at the end of the T20 match.

Bad news is rain has been forecast for Saturday as well owing to the depression over the Bay of Bengal, making the fate of the matches uncertain.
