It is said that marriages are made in heaven. In a bid to make it a memorable event, people across the world try out many weird things on this special day of their lives.

From exchanging wedding vows on the top of a cliff to underwater ceremonies, there have been many weird weddings all around the world.

Adding to the list, a few couples married in a bizarre wedding ceremony at Wat Ta Kien Temple in Nonthaburi province, on the outskirts of Bangkok, on Saturday.

Couples exchanged wedding vows by lying inside a pink coffin, which was meant to banish all the bad luck.

Ten couples took part in the unusual ceremony that was conducted by Buddhist monks.

After making offerings to the monks, the bride and groom were draped in a white sheet, which represents their death, followed by funeral chants. The ceremony ended after the couple was blessed as they embarked on the new journey.

The Thai temple began conducting this unusual wedding ceremony since last year's Valentine's Day.
