India's Bajrang Punia brought home the nation's first-ever gold medal from the Asian Wrestling Championship 2017 tournament on Saturday May 13. The 23-year-old from Jhajjar, Haryana, defeated Korea's Lee Seungchul 6-2 in the 65kg men's freestyle wrestling category.
In the women's competition, Sarita brought home yet another silver medal for the hosts from the competition, after defeating Tynybekova Aisuluu of Kyrgyzstan in the 58kg category.
