Deepika Padukone is on top of her game right now. With a string of critically acclaimed and commercially successful movies behind her, this leading lady must be on every director's speed-dial. Sooraj Barjatya wanted her to play princess Maithili in "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" but the leading lady had to let go of it for reasons best known to her.

In one of her recent interviews with DNA, she said how she has never really regretted not having taken up certain projects as she strongly believes every film comes with a certain fate. She went on to elaborate that it doesn't really matter who rejected an offer and who went ahead with it.

"See films always belong to people who do them. It doesn't matter who was offered or who didn't do it. Thats' why I talk about films that I have been offered. That's not what matters, what matters eventually after the film has released is who the film belongs to and it belongs to those who have been a part of it," the leading daily quoted her as saying.

Interestingly, this isn't the first time that there have been conjectures around her upcoming films. Her name has been associated with numerous other projects with A-listers earlier. Salman Khan's "Sultan" is one of them. Rumours of her doing the film went on for long until she shut everyone up with a few lines at a recently concluded press junket.

"I don't like talking about films I am approached for unless I have given it a thought of doing. So no, I am not a part of Sultan at all," DNA quoted her as saying. In other news, it has been widely reported that she has landed her first big international film opposite Vin Diesel. The photo she put up with the Hollywood star triggered the rumours. So far, she hasn't confirmed to signing any films for the coming year.
