Ranveer Singh, who charmed movie buffs with his performance in his debut film "Band Baaja Baaraat" alongside Anushka Sharma, didn't have a smooth ride, it seems.

At a recent radio show, the actor opened up on the low phase he had to go through during his initial days in cinema.

When asked the worst rumours he had heard about himself, Ranveer, who is known to speak frankly, told that when he was riding high on the success of his first film, it was reported that his father had paid ₹10 crore to YRF to cast him in the film, reports Bollywood Life.

Not just that, the actor further revealed that he was even pestered on social media as to how he managed to get into films, so that they too can give it a try.

Although the "Ram-Leela" actor laughs at those rumours now, he admitted that such gossip hurt him back then.

Accompanying him on the radio show was Priyanka Chopra, who too revealed how some rumours had upset her. Priyanka said a newpaper carried a story that she demanded mineral water during a shoot.

The "Gunday" co-star, who acted in Zoya Akhtar's multi-starrer film "Dil Dhadakne Do", is busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's mega-budget period drama "Bajirao Mastani" along with his rumoured girlfriend Deepika Padukone.
