Popular two-wheeler maker Bajaj on Monday expanded its Discover series line-up in India with the launch of two motorcycles dubbed the 150F and the 150S.
The bikes come powered by a 144.8 cc four-valves DTS-i engine, which can generate a peak power of 14.5 PS at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 12.75 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to five-speed gearbox and claims best in class mileage of 72 kmpl.The bikes get telescopic front forks and a mono-shock rear suspension.
Bajaj's new offering in the commuter segment looks stylish in its design and seemed to have borrowed design cues from Bajaj's Discover 125ST.
The Discover 150S is offered in two variants - one with regular drum brakes and the second one with front disc brake and has been priced at ₹52,030 and ₹52,030 respectively. Meanwhile, the Discover 150F comes with a price tag of ₹59,034.
The duo measures 2,038 mm in length, 714 mm in width, 1,070 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,305 mm.
Previous reports have indicated that Bajaj have commenced the booking for both Discover 150S and 150F in the country with an advance payment varying from ₹500 to ₹1,000. The bike will take on the likes of Honda Stunner, Honda CB Unicorn and Yamaha FZ Series in the country.
In July, Bajaj Auto posted a growth of 9 percent in its motorcycle sales to 2.67 lakh units over July 2013. The commercial vehicle sales of the company also rose to 49 percent at 51,451 units in July and the exports of the Bajaj witnessed 54 percent growth.
