Varun Dhawan starrer "Badlapur" has achieved the highest grosser status before finishing its first week run.
With ₹33.91 crore in its pocket, "Badlapur" has become the highest grossing 'adult' film of 2015, according to Bollywood Hungama.
The crime drama had received an "A" certificate for violence and sex scenes. "Badlapur" has fared way better than the previous two adult rated films released this year.
"Alone" and "Khamoshiyan", both belonging to horror genre, had also received "A" certificate. Until now, "Alone" held the title of highest grosser adult film, but "Badlapur" has now taken the title pushing the former film to second position.
"Badlapur" with ₹33.91 crore is on top, followed by "Alone" at no.2 position with ₹19.35 crore and "Khamoshiyan" at third with ₹14.02 crore.
Meanwhile, Sriram Raghavan's directorial film has been holding well at the box office. The film's consistent performance has made it the second hit film of 2015.
"#Badlapur Fri 7 cr, Sat 8.50 cr, Sun 8 cr, Mon 4.05 cr, Tue 3.35 cr, Wed 3.01 cr. Total: ₹ 33.91 cr. India biz," trade analysts tweeted the six days box office collection of "Badlapur".
The film will end its first week run with approximately ₹37 crore. The film is riding high on word of mouth, due to which the collections are consistent at the box office.
However, the earnings might drop in second due to an array of releases.
