'Babu Bangaram' 1st day box office collection: Maruthi's film turns biggest opener for Venkatesh

Director Maruthi Dasari's "Babu Bangaram" has made decent collection at the worldwide box office on the first day. The film has emerged as the biggest solo opener for Victory Venkatesh.

Before its release, "Babu Bangaram" had huge amount of hype and promotions, which helped the movie register decent advance booking in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) for its opening day. The movie also had good advance booking in other areas around the world. The trade experts predicted the film, which was released in over 1000 screens across the world, would start with a bang at the box office.

As predicted, the Venkatesh and Nayanthara starrer opened to superb response and registered an average of 70 percent occupancy in the theatres in the Telugu-speaking states. "Babu Bangaram," which ran to packed houses in some centres, has collected Rs. 7.10 crore at the AP/T box office on the first day. The movie has earned Rs. 5.44 crore for its distributors on its opening day.

The Maruthi Dasari-directed masala entertainer has also received superb response in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and north India circuits. "Babu Bangaram" has collected Rs. 1.25 crore at the box office on the first day and earned Rs. 60 lakh for the distributors of those regions.

"Babu Bangaram" was premiered in around 100 screens in North America on Thursday night and received superb response everywhere in the country. The movie receied mixed talk, which took a toll on its collection on Friday. The film has collected $253,395 at the U.S. box office in the in Thursday premieres and on its opening day together.

"Babu Bangaram" has collected approximately Rs. 10 crore gross at the worldwide box office on the first day of its release. The film has earned Rs. 6.78 crore for its distributors. Venkatesh's movies "Gopala Gopala," starring Pawan Kalyan and "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu," starring Mahesh Babu have collected over 12 crore gross in the global market on their opening days.
