Mohanlal's Pulimurugan had set the bar high at the Kerala box office as it went on a record breaking spree since its release and became the first Malayalam movie to enter the prestigious Rs. 100 crore club. The records looked as if they are here to stay for a long time. Then, Baahubali: The Conclusion happened. The magnum opus, released on April 27, is making waves in Kerala as well.

The grand sequel crossed the lifetime collection of Baahubali: The Beginning in less than five days. The fantasy thriller, helmed by SS Rajamouli, is believed to have raked in a gross collection of Rs. 30 crore at the Kerala box office, becoming the fastest movie to achieve the feat in the state.

The Prabhas-starrer has also become the fastest movie to enter the Rs. 1 crore club at the multiplexes in Kochi breaking the existing record of Vysakh's Pulimurugan. However, it has to be noted that Baahubali 2 earned Rs. 1 crore in just five days, while Mohanlal-starrer took eight days to reach the feat. While the big-budget entertainer made a collection of Rs. 13.79 lakh on the opening day, it earned Rs. 22.12 lakh, Rs. 23.28 lakh, Rs. 21.50 lakh, Rs. 21.20 lakh on the next four days respectively and took the total tally to Rs. 1.01 crore in five days.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Baahubali 2 has minted a gross amount of approximately Rs. 700 crore from the worldwide box office in six days. It is expected to break the lifetime collection records of Aamir Khan's PK and Dangal, the first and second biggest grossing Indian movies respectively.
