Dhaka, Nov 27 (ANI): Bangladesh’s ruling Awami League party supporters rallied in Dhaka in order to oppose the strike called by opposition parties against the announcement of the date for country’s parliamentary polls. Earlier on Monday, the chief election commissioner had declared that the polls would be held on January 05, next year. The opposition, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) had opposed the polls date and announced a 48-hour strike to voice their displeasure. Insisting that the strike by opposition failed to gain public support, an Awami leader, Mofazzal Hossain, said that people in the country were actually relieved after the declaration of the polls date.
