Gulmarg, Feb 12 (ANI): A tourist ski guide died after he was buried in an avalanche of snow in India’s Kashmir. At around 1.20 p.m on Wednesday a mass of snow came down in a rush from the Apharwat Mountain, where there is a ski resort, in Gulmarg hill station. The avalanche also trapped three skiers, reports said. The deceased has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Bakshi, a resident near the ski resort. Family and friends mourned the loss of the 28-year old ski guide. Located at a height of 2,690 meters, Gulmarg is a popular skiing destination in Kashmir and sees thousands of tourists flock to it every year. Snowfall in the area often shuts down roads and causes hindrance to traffic and vehicular movements in the Himalayan region.
