Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car maker, showcased its new Baleno RS concept at the ongoing Auto Expo 2016 on Thursday, 4 February.
The Baleno RS concept, the sporty version of Baleno hatchback -- currently on sale in India -- gets 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol unit under the hood. The new Baleno RS will be launched in India during the festive season and will be available only on the top-end model Baleno Alpha. The 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol unit of Baleno will belt out more than 100bhp of power. The Baleno RS will compete with the likes of new Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo GT and Fiat Abarth Punto.
The new Baleno that looks the same as the regular model, comes with exterior add-ons such as a body kit, side skirts, larger alloy wheels in dark theme and sporty rear bumper and gets all-black interiors and SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay.
On display was also Maruti S-Cross limited edition and the new-generation platform. The new S-Cross limited edition comes loaded with new features like chrome back door garnish, rear-end spoiler in black paint finish, sporty pedal pad, ORVM garnish in matt black finish, ambient light and interior styling kit.
