NEW DELHI -- American company Jeep forayed into the Indian market with the launch of its three SUVs at the ongoing auto carnival -- Auto Expo 2016.
The SUV line-up of Jeep for India includes Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. All the three will be initially brought to India as Completely Built Up (CBU) units and the local assembly will start at Ranjagaon plant, Pune, in 2017. The Jeep SUVs will be sold with diesel and petrol engines.
The Grand Cherokee will be offered in two variants – Limited and Summit. Both the variants feature Bi-Xenon headlamp with DRLs and tail lamps with LED lighting. While the Summit gets 20-inch alloy wheels, the Limited variant of Grand Cherokee houses 18-inch alloys. On the other hand, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited comes with 17-inch alloys and removable tops and doors.
