German car maker Audi has unveiled a special edition for the R8 coupe V10 plus, which will add "selection 24h" as suffix. The R8 coupe V10 plus selection 24h pays tribute to the R8 LMS that won last year's 24 Hours Nurburgring race.
The selection 24h is limited to just 24 units and is powered by a 5.2-litre V10 mid-engine that develops 602bhp. A newly developed quattro drive distributes power to all four wheels. The super car accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds, before advancing to a top speed of 330kmph. The R8 coupe V10 plus is both the fastest and most powerful production of Audi car.
The selection 24h special edition features dynamic steering, adaptive damper control system Audi magnetic ride and Audi laser lighting. The tricolor paint finish, consisting of Suzuka Gray as the basic color, with Mythos Black and Misano Red highlights, is a tribute to the Audi R8 LMS.
Audi says the front spoiler, the exterior mirror housings, the engine compartment cover, the rear wing and the diffuser of the special edition are made from gloss-finish carbon fibre. The tailpipes of the sport exhaust system feature black shade and the 20-inch forged aluminium wheels in 10-spoke Y design are painted gloss anthracite black.
Inside, the limited-edition model offers full-leather upholstery. The illuminated door sills, made of gloss-finish carbon, displays the serial numbers 1 to 24 for each of the limited-edition cars. As an exclusive feature of the limited edition, the entry lights on the doors project the Audi R8 logo onto the road surface.
