A derby of sorts in the Indian Super League pits two big teams – Atletico de Kolkata and NorthEast United FC – yet again, in their return leg ISL 2016 fixture. The match takes place at the Rabindra Sarobar stadium in the city of joy on Thursday.
No 4 vs No 8 in the table. NorthEast United FC have seen a major slump in their form after losing all their previous four games in the ISL 2016. They had a really good start but as the matches passed, the form tremendously came down for Nelo Vingada's men.
They are currently at the bottom of the table with ten points earned from nine games. "Our beginning was fantastic but the last four losses have put us in a difficult situation," said Vingada. "In life and in football, we have seen that nothing is impossible. No one has qualified and no one is out yet.
"It will be hard but nothing is impossible. We can overcome this situation. We made some important mistakes which cost us the results and we should have had more points than we have right now," the experienced coach added.
The inaugural champions Atletico de Kolkata, meanwhile, are fourth in the table and they too do not have a win from their previous two games. They earlier won against NorthEast United in the first leg fixture and will be keen on getting the double over the team, just like they did in 2014.
ATK winger Sameehg Doutie is unavailable to take part in the game owing to an injury.
