Patna, Oct 04 (ANI): At least 32 people were killed and manyothers injured in a major stampede in Patna city of Bihar during celebrations of Dussehra. The incident took place at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Eyewitness's said that chaos was created after an electric wire fell on the ground. According to reports, most of the deceased are women and children. The injured were immediately rushed to Patna Medical College Hospital. District Magistrate, Manish Verma confirmed the death toll and said that the injured were under treatment in the hospital. Meanwhile, locals blamed the absence of any lighting at the venue for the accident and also the police who they alleged had kept two of the four exits closed for the VIP movement. The state government has also announced ex-gratia of Rs. 3 lakh each for the next of kin of the dead.
