It is more than two months since Asus announced three handsets – the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Ultra – but there is no sign of them till now. The Taiwanese technology giant hasn't uttered even a word on its releases, but reports have claimed that it could happen next month.

The ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Ultra were unveiled at the Computex 2016 event in May. Asus revealed the specifications and pricing of the devices, but not their release date. It was rumoured that the handsets would see the light of the day in July, but it didn't happen.

Now, it has emerged that the devices could be launched in India at the company's "Z3nvoloution" event expected to take place in September. However, the exact release date is not known.

The Asus ZenFone 3 is lowest variant of the three. Priced at $249 (around €224 / Rs. 16,800), it features a metal body, fingerprint sensor and a 5.5-inch full HD super IPS LCD display with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density). Under the hood, it has a 14nm FinFET process technology-based Snapdragon 625 SoC (System-on-Chip) processor, am Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based ZenUI 3.0 operating system, a 32/64GB internal memory (expandable up to 256GB), abd a 3/4GB RAM.

The device features a 16MP Sony IMX298 sensor with f/2.0 aperture, laser autofocus, OIS, dual-LED flash, an 8MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture, and a 3,000mAh battery.

The Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra is priced at $479 (around €431/ Rs. 32,200) and features an aluminium body, a fingerprint sensor, and a 6.88-inch full HD touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (324 ppi pixel density). Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based ZenUI 3.0, a 32/64/128GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB), and a 3/4GB RAM. It also features a 23MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, laser autofocus, OIS (4-axis), dual-LED (dual tone) flash, 1/2.6" sensor size and 1 µm pixel size, an 8MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture, and a 4,600mAh battery.

On the other hand, the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe is priced at $499 (around €448 / Rs. 33,600) and comes with an aluminium body, fingerprint sensor, a 5.7-inch full HD super AMOLED display with 1,080x1,920 pixels (386 ppi pixel density), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, and an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based ZenUI 3.0. It also comes packed with a 64/128/256GB internal memory (expandable up to 256GB), a 4/6GB RAM, a 23MP primary camera with Sony IMX318 sensor, laser autofocus, Phase Detection Auto Focus, f/2.0 aperture, 4-axis optical image stabilisation, 1/2.6" sensor size, 1 µm pixel size and dual-LED (dual tone) flash, an 8MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture, and a 3,000mAh battery.
