Taiwanese technology major Asus has reportedly sent out press invites to select media house for an event scheduled in Taipei next week.

Technology website Engadget has received once such invitation from Asus. The event will be held on 17 September and is said to be the launch-pad of the much-awaited Padfone Infinity A86.

Soon after the report went online, Asus has released an eight-second teaser video showing the new phone undocking from its tablet station while playing a rocket launch theme. The tagline of the video read - "Asus PadFone-The Future"

According to reports, Padfone Infinity A86 will come as an all-white colour model with full HD display and run on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by a faster 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor. It also comes with a microSD slot for memory expansion. Other key specifications such as RAM and camera features are said to remain same as that of the previous version, which was launched earlier this year.

In late February at the MWC (Mobile World Congress), Asus had unveiled Padfone Infinity featuring a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 series quad-core processor backed by high capacity battery giving 19 hours of 3G talk time. It featured a 13.0-megapixel main camera with 5-element lens feature capable of recording full HD 1080x1920p resolution video.
