Shortly after releasing several new Zenfone smartphones, Asus has further expanded its portfolio with Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition. The new handset was released at an event in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Friday, and makes quite an appeal with its spacious onboard memory.

According to Fonearena, which has cited the official Asus blog of Brazil, the new variant of Zenfone 2 Deluxe packs 256GB of internal space, which makes it all special.

Looking at other specifications of Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition, it appears the handset is identical to its 64GB and 128GB counterparts. Like the original Zenfone 2 Deluxe, the special variant with massive storage is powered by a 2.5GHz 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor, 4GB RAM and Android 5.0 Lollipop. It has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Corning Glass 3 protection.

On the camera front, the handset is powered by a 13-megapixel rear-facing PixelMaster sensor with f/2.0 aperture and Real Tone flash. On the front side of the device, there is a 5MP camera with same f/2.0 aperture. This contributes towards good low-light photos.

Other specifications include a 3,000mAh battery, 4G LTE support and dual-SIM slots with dual active mode.

Asus launched Zenfone 2 Deluxe variant in India alongside Zenfone 2 Laser and Zenfone Selfie. The 64GB variant of the handset is priced at Rs 22,999 and the 128GB model costs Rs 29,999. The 256GB Deluxe Special Edition's India release has not been announced, but the pricing is likely to be higher than the 128GB variant when available.

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe Special Edition, like the standard variants, comes with textured black with red and illusion white with red accents. Gamers will also get the Asphalt 8 pre-installed in the handset.
