Multi-starrer Malayalam movie Kavi Uddheshichathu..? was released in almost 73 screens in Kerala on Saturday, October 8. The makers of the comedy family entertainer had postponed its release date by a day, as they did not want the movie to clash with Pulimurugan and Thoppil Joppan, released on Friday.

Kavi Uddheshichathu..? is the directorial venture of Liju Thomas, who is known for his short film Ramaniyechiyude Namathil that won many accolades and garnered good audience response. The latest movie stars Asif Ali, Biju Menon and Narain in the lead roles, while Anju Kurian of Om Shanthi Oshaana-fame stars opposite Asif in it. The film also has Balu Varghese, Lena, Saiju Kurup, Bijukuttan, Bindu Panicker, Veena Nair, Pradeep Kottayam, Sasi Kalinga and Sija Rose in significant roles.
The movie is the second production of Asif under his home banner Adams World of Imagination in association with Sajin Jaffar after Kohinoor, released in 2015. Meanwhile, Biju and Asif were last seen together as father-son duo in the romantic entertainer Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, which was well received by the Kerala audience. It is expected to be a comeback movie of Narain after two back-to-back flop projects.

Kavi Uddheshichathu is a decent entertainer that has its own moments. As mentioned above, the initial portions of the first half might give you a dull feel about the movie but later on, the film takes you for an entertaining ride. The second half of the film is the biggest plus of Kavi Uddheshichathu..? The volleyball tournament sequences have been well shot and woul give you all the thrills.
