Malayalam actor Asif Ali's house in Thodupuzha was attacked by a group of people at 1:30 am on Tuesday, 5 January. However, at the time of attack, only Asif's brother was at home. Window panes were shattered in the stone-pelting during the attack.

It is understood that the attack was the result of political rivalry: Asif's father Shaukath Ali is the local secretary of the CPM in 16th ward in Thoudupuzha. Chaos during a recent meeting is expected to be the reason behind the attack by unidentified people on the early hours of Tuesday. Asif's father has also served as Thodupuzha municipal chairman twice, and after leaving the CPM in 1995, he had rejoined the party in 2014.

Meawnwhile, Asif, who was last seen in Raghurama Varma's directorial venture "Rajamma @ Yahoo", is currently working for Khalid Rahman's "Anuraga Karikkin Vellam" and Rohith VS' "Adventures Of Omanakuttan". He also has Kalavoor Ravikumar's "Silent Radio" with Priyamani, Shanil Mohammed untitled flick and VK Prakash's "Shake Hand" in his kitty this year.

Asif is also awaiting the release of the movie "Driver On Duty", which is the debut directorial venture of Manoj Palodan. The movie reveloves around the life of a male police driver amidst 11 women police officers, played by Abhirami, Janani Iyer, Sajitha Madathil and Sruthi Lakshmi, among others. The film is said to have been inspired from Asia's first all-woman police station in Kozhikode.

Also, after his debut production venture "Kohinoor", Asif is all set to produce Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer "The Beautiful Game" under his home production banner Adam's World of Imagination. The upcoming movie, based on football, is being directed by Jamesh Kottakal.
