Arvind Swami and Trisha Krishnan have been signed up to play the lead roles in Sathuranga Vettai 2. The upcoming Tamil movie is directed by Nirmal Kumar of Salim fame, and produced by Manobala.

Arvind Swami is teaming up with Trisha Krishnan for the first time in this project. The film also stars Radha Ravi, Nassar, Ponvannan, Sriman and others. The upcoming film is a sequel to Sathuranga Vettai, which was one of the biggest hits at the box office in 2014.

The first instalment was written and directed by H Vinoth, who has written the story, screenplay and dialogues for its sequel as well. The film features cinematography by KG Venkatesh, music by Ashwin Vinayakamurthy, and editing by Raja Sethupathi.

KG Venkatesh and Raja Sethupathi were also part of Sathuranga Vettai, and only music director Sean Roldan has been replaced in the sequel.

Sathuranga Vettai had dealt with scams in rural areas. The latest film will centre around high-profile criminals, who use technology to loot the money of middle-class people.

The first instalment, in which Natraj, Ishaara Nair, Ponvannan and Illavarasu played the key roles, was praised for its tight screenplay and brilliant narration, which came as a breath of fresh air. As a result, there is a huge expectation riding on the sequel.
