Disney Dream, the third cruise ship of Disney Cruise Line, is all geared up for her Atlantic voyage to the United States on December 19, as the cruise line took delivery of the third ship in its fleet on Thursday.

Disney Dream was under construction for over two years at the German shipyard, Meyer Werft. The 340-meter long cruiseliner has cabins for 4,000 passengers. According to shipyard officials, the Disney Dream, built for Disney Cruise Line is the largest cruiseliner ever built in Germany and one of the largest cruiseliners in the world.
“It gives me great pride to deliver the Disney Dream, which is the largest ship Meyer Werft has ever built,” Bernard Meyer, managing partner of Meyer Werft was quoted as saying in media.
Disney Dream is an addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet after a long period since 1999. The cruise line appeared extremely excited during the delivery ceremony in Germany. “I cannot wait for our guests to experience this newest addition to our fleet, a ship that will delight and surprise all ages,” Karl Holz, president of Disney Cruise Line said.
Disney Dream is the first of two ships to be added to Disney Cruise Line fleet under a contract signed between Meyer Werft and Disney in 2007. The second cruise ship, Disney Fantasy, is scheduled to be launched in April 2012.
