Match-day 3 of the UEFA Champions League throws in one of those rare fixtures in the early stages of the competition. Two of the most successful teams in the history of the tournament, clash when seven-time winner AC Milan travels to Santiago Bernabeu to meet nine-time winner Real Madrid.

Since the summer of 2009, when Kaka decided to move to Madrid from Milan, both teams have undergone many changes. Real brought in manager Jose Mourinho after he successfully guided AC Milan's cross town rivals Inter, to Champions League glory. He boasts an impressive CV including two Champions League titles as well as numerous domestic titles in Portugal, England and Italy.

Jose's counterpart at Milan, Massimiliano Allegri, has almost no experience in this arena with just two years of Cagilari to boast. However, while there he twice won the Panchina d'Oro which is the best manager's award voted by the other managers of the division. He drew the best out of Cagilari with limited resources, and Milan's impressive domestic form under his stewardship shows his potential to manage stars as well.

Kaka however, will play no part in this fixture since he is sidelined with injury. But Jose has other stars at his service. German sensation Mesut Ozil has fared impressively in the attacking midfield role, along with Angel Di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo and Higuain.

Milan, on the other hand, is full of players with their own reasons to perform against Madrid. Former Madrid gem Robinho, who had a fairly average time at Madrid, will want to show his former club what they are missing, while Ex-Barcelona stars Ronaldinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will strive to reignite old memories of El Classico's.

Madrid head group G with six points from two games, while Milan is second with 4 points after drawing with Ajax Amsterdam. If Milan wins this, they will head the group by 2 points. However, if Madrid were to secure three points, they will have a fairly safe passage into the knock-outs.
