Bombay Stock Exchange down 0.4 percent

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex dropped 79.80 points, in the morning on Thursday.

At 9.35 a.m., the 30-share index dropped 79.80 points or 0.40 percent in opening trade to 19,944.43 points with 22 components declined and 8 components advancing.

The BSE index has seen a high of 19,998.32 and a low of 19,828.36. Currently, it stands at 19,861.92 points against to the previous close of 19,941.72.

The 50-share index National Stock Exchange's Nifty also moved down by 24.75 points to 5,966.25, a lose of 0.41 percent. The NSE index has seen a high of 6,006.80 and a low of 5,963.30.

On the BSE, the top gainers are Sterlite Industries, ONGC, ACC, NTPC, Hindalco, Mahindra and Mahindra, Tata Power, Jaiprakash Associates, Hindustan Uniliver and BHEL.

Tata Steel, Mahindra and Mahindra, ITC, Wipro, HDFC, Sterlite Industries, Jaiprakash Associates, ACC, Reliance Infrastructure, Jindal Steel, Hindalco, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Tata Power, Tata Motors, State Bank of India, Reliance Communications, Relinace Industries, BHEL, NTPC, Hindustan Uniliver, Cipla and DLF.

On the BSE, the top losers are Maruti, Hero Honda, Cipla, Wipro, Bharti Airtel, Infosys Technologies, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, HDFC, Reliance Communications, DLF, ITC, Tata Steel, State Bank of India, TCS, Reliance Infrastructure, Jindal Steel, L&T and Tata Motors.

The BSE’s Midcap Index gained 0.04 percent to 8,051.49 and Smallcap Index rose 0.10 percent to 10,163.69. Bank Nifty Index down by 0.59 percent and CNX IT down 0.72 percent.
