Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor starrer "2 States" has reached the ₹50 crore mark at the domestic box office. The romantic film has shattered "Ragini MMS 2" lifetime collection record within five days of its run.

"2 States" has maintained rock-steady pace in Indian markets during the weekdays. The film earned around ₹5.60 to ₹5.75 crore on Tuesday, taking its overall total to more than ₹50 crore.

The four days breakup of the film according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh is: Friday ₹12.42 crore, Saturday ₹12.13 crore, Sunday ₹13.51 crore and Monday ₹6.17 crore.

With this, "2 States" has become the fifth highest grosser of 2014 after "Jai Ho", "Gunday", "Queen" and "Main Tera Hero".

By the end of first week, the film is expected to beat Varun Dhawan's "Main Tera Hero" and become the third highest grosser.

Wednesday's earnings will remain normal, but on Thursday the collection of the film is expected to grow due to election holiday in several states. The film is expected to take its first week total to ₹60 crore and beat Kangana Ranaut's "Queen" total.

Meanwhile, the lead actress Bhatt has thanked her fans for the success of her film.

"Thank you all for all the love !!!!!! Soo overwhelmed with the response to #2states !!! We do this for you and just you .. Thank you #1love," she tweeted.

Also, Amul has paid tribute to "2 States" in their latest ad featuring Bhatt, Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Amrita Singh, Shiv Kumar Subramaniam and Revathy.
