Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has described Manmohan Singh as the country's 'Super Prime Minister' of the present United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. Sanjaya Baru, a former media adviser to the prime minister, has termed the UPA Chairperson and Priyanka's mother Sonia Gandhi as the real 'Super Prime Minister,' in his latest tell-all book, "The Accidental Prime Minister."

Baru implied that Sonia Gandhi was calling the shots and remote-controlling Manmohan Singh in the Union government. And even BJP's veteran leader LK Advani has been terming Singh as the 'weakest prime minister' he has ever seen in the country.

Priyanka was canvassing for her brother Rahul Gandhi in Amethi Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh on 15 April 2014. Priyanka is handling the campaign task of Rahul Gandhi and her mother Sonia, who is contesting from Rae Bareli in the same Uttar Pradesh state.

Allaying criticism of Baru that Sonia Gandhi was remote-controlling the PM Manmohan Singh, Priyanka told the media, "I think Manmohan Singh is the super PM," NDTV quoted Priyanka Gandhi.

Baru, who was Manmohan Singh's Media Advisor between 2004 and 2008, has quoted Manmohan Singh on the eve of his his book release. Baru has claimed that Singh told him (Baru) that there cannot be two centres of powers, which creates confusion. "I have to accept that the party president (Sonia Gandhi) is the centre of power. The government is answerable to the party," Singh reportedly told Baru.

Sonia Gandhi, in her telecasted appeal, had said on Monday night that the current general election is a fight to protect the very heart and soul of India from those who want to divide the people of India.

Facing queries on the appeal made by Sonia to voters, which has been telecasted on various television channels, Priyanka said that whatever BJP might say, the fight of India's heart is going on in this elections.
