Vijay, who is currently busy with AR Murugadoss' "Kaththi", will reportedly work in Chimbu Devan's next project.

Even before the release of "Kaththi", buzz surrounding the Vijay-Devan project is doing the rounds in media circles. The film, touted as a fantasy entertainer, will reportedly be produced by Vijay's manager PT Selvakumar and Shibu of Thameens Films.

Speculations are rife that Devan is planning to rope in some bigwigs for the film. Buzz is that actress Sridevi, who made her comeback to the silver screen with the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Bollywood flick "English Vinglish" (2012), will play a pivotal role in "Vijay 58." It has been reported that the actress was floored by Devan's script and agreed to be a part of it.

Besides Sridevi, Kannada actor Sudeep, of "Naan Ee" fame, might also star in the film. In an interview to The Times of India, Sudeep revealed that he might be part of a fantasy Tamil film with Vijay in the lead role. There is also buzz that Devan is planning to rope in Shruti Haasan for the female lead. Earlier, there were speculations that Deepika Padukone or Priyanka Chopra might the play the lead actress opposite Vijay but now Haasan's name is doing the rounds.

There are also reports that the director is in talks with ace music director AR Rahman, to compose songs for the big-budget project. However, all these are mere speculations and an official announcement regarding the project, cast and crew is still awaited.

The film's shoot is expected to begin sometime in September, after Vijay completes "Kaththi". The Murugadoss directorial is progressing at a brisk pace and the shoot is likely to be wrapped up by August and it will hit screens for Diwali 2014.
