We have already seen a number of reports from established publications that American technology giant Apple is almost certain to launch big-screen iPhones in 2014. And now, a South Korea-based market watch dog has released details of the expected features of the upcoming Apple handsets, sparking off excitement among fans.
Technology website OLED- Display.net have got hold of the investor note, released by KDB Daewoo Securities, revealing the probable key features of the new Apple iPhone devices of 2014.
According to the memo, Apple is set to release a standard 2014 premium handset - iPhone 6 - and a 5.5-inch smartphone (many tech blogs have dubbed it as 'iPhablet').
Apple iPhone 6 reportedly sports a 4.7/4.8-inch full HD (1920x1080) screen having pixel density of 440 ppi (pixels per inch) and runs on Apple designed 64-architecture based A8 chipset, 2GB RAM, 8.0-megapixel main camera, 3.2-megapixel front camera, 1800 mAh battery and comes in 16GB/32GB/64GB/128GB storage variants.
Meanwhile, Apple iPhablet will flaunt a 5.5-inch IGZO (2272x1280p) retina display with pixel density of 510 ppi. Apart from boasting a giant screen, the rest of the internal hardware of the device is expected to be similar to the iPhone 6.
Though KDB Daewoo Securities has a good track record in predicting the future devices in the market, one claim by the analyst firm begs questions. It says both handsets would ship with iOS v7.2 out-of-the-box, contradicting earlier reports of iOS v8, which is under works at Apple for quite some time, reported BGR.
The South Korean market watch dog claims that Apple might unveil the new iPhone devices in 2Q/3Q this year. This information is line with previous reports, which said that the devices might get launched either in the upcoming Apple's WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) in June or probably in September, to complete the one year cycle for iPhone 5S and 5C.
