Box Office: 'Pandiya Nadu', 'All in All Azhaguraja' Collections

Here is the box office collection report of Vishal's "Pandiya Nadu" and Karthi's "All in All Azhaguraja".

"Pandiya Nadu"

Vishal's "Pandiya Nadu", touted to be an underdog of all Diwali releases, is doing decent business at the box office.

The film has raked in ₹6.26 lakh (£6,167) from seven screens in its first weekend at the UK box office. "Tamil film #PandiyaNaadu *opening weekend* UK £6,167 [₹6.26 lacs]," film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"Pandiya Nadu" was initially released in fewer screens, when compared to "Arrambam" and "All in All Azhaguraja" (AAA)

Due to positive reviews from critics and audience, the screen count for the Vishal starrer had been raised from the first week.

The Suseenthiran directorial has fetched decent collections in south India as well. The film has taken over "AAA" as the Karthi starrer failed to impress critics.

Ajith's "Arrambam" dominates over other releases and takes the top spot at the Chennai box office. "AAA" was in second position in the first weekend, but is now replaced by "Pandiya Nadu".

According to senior film journalist Sreedhar Pillai, "Arrambam" still rules the Chennai box office in its second weekend. "Pandiya Nadu" is in second spot, while Hrithik's "Krrish 3" is placed third.

The success of "Pandiya Nadu" has provided relief to Vishal, who has given out back-to-back flops. The actor will next be seen in "Naan Sigappu Manithan", directed by Thiru. His other film - "Madha Gaja Raja" - is still waiting to see the light of the day.

All in All Azhaguraja (AAA)

Karthi's "AAA" has grossed £4,721 from 10 screens in its second weekend at the UK box office. The film's total collections after the second weekend stand at £33,309 (₹33.79 lakh)

The comedy caper has earned a total of A$30,378 (₹18.02 lakh) after the second weekend at the Australia box office.

Karthi's flop streak continues with "All in All Azhaguraja", directed by Rajesh. The actor had a dream run ever since he made his debut in 2007 until 2011 when his "Siruthai" was released. But in the last 15 months or so, his films have failed to set the cash registers ringing. "AAA" is Karthi's second film of the year, next to "Alex Pandian." With both films performing badly, the focus has now been shifted to his upcoming film "Biriyani", which is expected to hit screens in January 2014.
