With just about two days left for "Arrambam" release, cinema lovers are gung-ho about "Thala" Diwali (Ajith is referred by this name).
But it seems this year is not just going to be a "Thala" Diwali; instead it will be a "Thala Thalapathi" Diwali. It has been confirmed that the first look of Vijay's "Jilla" will release on the eve of the festival of lights, which is on 2 November.
Actor Jithan Ramesh, whose father is producing the film under the Super Good Films banner, tweeted, "The 1st look of #jilla will b on diwali tht is 2nd of November and movie ll get release on pongal......"
He also ascertained once again that "Jilla" will hit the screens for Pongal in January 2014. The Vijay starrer will clash with Ajith's "Veeram" which is also likely to release during the harvest festival.
The "Jilla" team has completed most portions of the film and is now shooting in Osaka, Japan, for a song sequence. The makers had initially planned to shoot the song portions in Bulgaria, but later they shifted the location to Japan due to unfavourable weather conditions in Bulgaria. The film's shooting is expected to be completed by December after which the post production work will begin in full swing.
Directed by debutant RT Nesan, "Jilla" will reportedly have all the commercial elements. Besides Vijay, the film has Kajal Aggarwal, Mohanlal, Mahat Ragavendra, Niveda Thomas and yesteryear actress Poornima Bagyaraj. Kajal has teamed up for the second time with Vijay post their 2012-blockbuster "Thuppakki".
The film's music is composed by Imman of "Kumki" fame. Vijay will once again lend his voice for a song in this album. The actor will team up with popular singer Shreya Ghoshal and croon to a melodious folk number, which has lyrics written by Vairamuthu.
Interestingly, this will not be the first time that the actor will sing in a film. He has crooned to several hit songs in films including "Vishnu", "Sachin", "Bagavathi", "Thamizhan", "Badri", "Priyamanavale", "Nenjinile" and the recently-released "Thalaivaa".
