Akshay Kumar's "Boss", which was expected to end the dry spell at the box office, has turned out to be a massive flop. The action comedy directed by Anthony D' Souza has not shown any improvement in its collection, except for the first Sunday.

After flop show "Besharam", trade analysts expected that the Akshay starrer would send the cash registers ringing. But instead it turned out to be yet another disaster.

On the second Friday, the film's collection was less than a crore and on Saturday it was in the range of ₹1 crore. The overall domestic total of the film is estimated to be around more than ₹51 crore but the official figures are yet to come out.

The film opened with mixed reviews on a good number of screens but failed to maintain the momentum at collection centers. "Boss" can take its lifetime collection to ₹55-₹58 crore, if it runs well at the box office, before the release of "Krrish 3".

After "Chennai Express" hardly one or two Indian films did well in terms of collection. Due to "Chennai Express" the month of August had registered good earnings, but in September only "Grand Masti" performed well, earning more than ₹100 crore.

However, October has turned out to be the worst period in the 2013, as none of the films did well. "Besharam" was a big release starring Ranbir Kapoor, alongside his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. Released on 2 October, the film failed to entertain the audience and was declared a box office disaster in India.

Now after the poor performance of "Boss", all eyes are set on Diwali weekend release "Krrish 3", starring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut.
